James Dockstader is a Landscape Architect, whose Laguna Beach firm (James Dockstader, Landscape Architect) is close to celebrating its tenth anniversary. James believes that the successful and artful marriage of social, economic, special, and ecological elements is the realm of Landscape Architecture. A fascinating, powerful relationship exists between ourselves and our surroundings. We are motivated to appreciate and enhance this relationship, recognizing that it is integrally linked to the quality of our lives.

With this in mind, James Dockstader, :Landscape Architect, has a strong history of successful public and private projects in Southern California, dedication to a highly interactive process with the client has led to the implementation of design concepts which are creative, site specific, program responsive and cost effective. Project history includes a very wide range of projects, such as oceanfront residence, public libraries, local and regional parks, hospitals facilities, park and recreation master plans, transportation facility master plans, religious institutions, downtown redevelopment projects, corporate headquarters projects, and botanical gardens.

James has been a member of the TAFOC Board of Directors since 1996 and leads the Art in Public Places Award program for the Board.
